Why we thought this was useful to build
The idea started with a question: if someone sends an AI assistant to your website, what can it actually do when it gets there?
They might be looking for product details, comparing a service or trying to find out how to book an appointment. An assistant helping with that task needs to access the relevant pages, read the information and identify the next step.
We thought it would be useful to have a simple way to check for things that might get in the way.
What we wanted to understand
A website can work well for a person browsing it directly while presenting difficulties for an automated visitor. An access rule might block a request, important information might be hard to retrieve, or the route to an action might be unclear.
Some restrictions are deliberate. Others may be there without the website owner realizing it. We wanted a check that helps people tell the difference and decide what is worth investigating.
What the tool does
Can AI Agents Use My Site? checks a sample of public pages and resources for evidence about access, readable content, navigation and published agent-facing capabilities. It shows the observations, affected pages and possible next steps.
It is a starting point for reviewing your website with the person who maintains it. It cannot establish that an agent will successfully complete a booking or purchase.
What comes next
There is still uncertainty about how people will use agents and which integrations will prove useful. Some websites already provide the information an agent needs through ordinary, accessible HTML.
Our aim is to make it easier to understand what your website currently makes available, so you can decide whether anything needs to change.
